Putting saves the Day as Aussie wins Wells Fargo Championship

TONY, JIMMY, AND TONY

Jason Day has won the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte.

Day had led by two shots going into the final day, before tightening up and bringing himself back to the pack during the final round.

But he steadied with late birdies to win by two strokes.

Macquarie Sport Radio’s Mark Allen said it was a great fightback from a precarious position.

“He was in trouble,” Marko told Macquarie Sport Radio Breakfast.

“He was hitting the ball sideways!”

Marko said Day’s putting saved the day.

“It’s out of this world… it’s outrageous how well he’s putting.”
