Tim Paine “100% ready to go” says Justin Langer
Australian coach Justin Langer has confirmed captain Tim Paine is “100% ready to go” for the second Test match in Perth this Friday.
During his second innings yesterday Paine was hit on the same finger that he famously broke back in 2011.
Speaking to the media at the Adelaide Airport, Langer confirmed that Tim Paine will be leading the Aussies out on the field come Friday.
“Paine is the toughest pretty boy I’ve ever met in my life. Even if it’s snapped in about 4 places he’d be still right. He’s absolutely fine. He’s obviously had issues with it before but he is 100% ready to go,” Langer said.
Langer also confirmed Victorian Chris Tremain will not be making the trek to Perth, however the remaining 13 of the 14 man squad will stay the same and Travis Head is a “certainty” to play the second Test match starting Friday.
MACQUARIE SPORTS RADIO will have full coverage of the second Test beginning on Friday in Perth. Bruce Eva, Tim Lane, Karl Langdon Tom Moody, Darren Lehmann, Mike Hussey, Glenn McGrath and Brad Hogg will bring you all the action!
