Tony Shaw slams ‘gutless’ Essendon for showing ‘no class’ in Neeld departure
Macquarie Sports Radio breakfast co-host and former Collingwood coach Tony Shaw has launched a scathing assessment of Essendon following the departure of Mark Neeld.
It’s widely believed Neeld, the game performance coach, was pushed, despite the fact Essendon say it was Neeld’s decision to walk away.
In a scathing Twitter post that spilled onto his breakfast program, Shaw said the move was a “cop out” that showed “no class”.
Mark Neeld sacked/resigned. So this man is the sole reason Essendon are a rabble. What a gutless club!
Only class act here is is Neeld. 2017 on coaching staff play finals. 8 games later all his fault! Whoosha your right no identity, stand for nothing and no class.

“What a gutless club,” he said. “There’s bigger issues at that football club.”
