Macquarie Sports Radio

Wayne Bennett has broken his silence saying he will consider coaching another NRL club if he’s replaced by Craig Bellamy at Brisbane, saying “I have been approached by a few clubs”.

Brisbane CEO Paul White said discussions had taken place with Melbourne coach Bellamy about taking replacing Bennett as the club looks to its future.

Bennett said he had initiated the discussions with the club and was aware of the talks with Bellamy.

During the press conference Bennett made many references to his age and his health, stating that he was feeling great but “who knows what might happen in 6 months time” and stated that “If they wanted him to go, he would go”.

Bellamy is contracted to the Storm until the end of this season. Bennett immediately ruled out sharing the job with him, saying he expected to see out his contract, saying “That won’t happen, that’s just not going to happen”
